It’s a medium-intensity curry blend that contains Cumin, Peppercorns, Nutmeg, Cardamom, China Cinnamon and Clove.
“Garam” means hot and “Masala” means mixture of spices. The word “Garam” refers to “warming the body” as it’s believed that these spices raise the body temperature in Ayurveda medicine.
Curry powder is a blend of spices ground together. The traditional Indian name for a spice mix is “Masala”.
In India, these mixtures vary from region to region.
Coriander, cumin, turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, chives, ginger, dill seeds, cardamom.
Store in a dark, cool and dry place.
Ideal for curries, lentils, soups or just sprinkled on some scrambled eggs.
Garam masala works very well with salads, marinated, sautéed vegetables, and also with chicken breast and ground meat that can be used in the preparation of meat sprouts and kaftans.
