Originating from Siberia, tarragon is a plant that saw its cultivation become widespread throughout Europe during the XV century and is now an important herb in French cuisine.
Made of small and narrow leaves, the tarragon flavour is sweet and at the same time slightly spicy. Their are cut with scissors (instead of chopped) and can be used both green and fresh as well as dried.
Store in a dark, cool and dry place.
Ideal to add an unforgettable touch to salads, mushrooms, omelettes, meats, poultry, fish, mustard and various sauces (béarnaise, tartar, gribiche, ravigote), could also enrich olive oils and vinegars.
