Long pepper is a different pepper from the usual peppers. This is due to its shape as a small brown colored pine cone. It is also called Java long pepper because of its origin on the island of Java, Indonesia. The long pepper grows wild in the Himalayas and is one of the first peppers imported into Europe.
Whole long pepper (Piper longum L.)
May contain traces of sesame seeds, mustard, celery, and gluten.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consume within 12 months of opening.
