Fennel seeds are found in the bulbs of the fennel plant, better known as anise or fennel, original from Mediterranean. The seeds are oval and have a soft and sweet liquorice flavour. It is a powerful and beneficial food, rich in essential nutrients such as vitamins A, B and C, carbohydrates, water, fibber, sodium, potassium, iron, calcium, copper and zinc. It is widely used to combat problems such as heartburn, bad digestion, gas, abdominal pain, colds, diarrhea, among others, improving body functions as a whole.
Fennel seeds are widely used in Italian cuisine, but also in Middle Eastern and Indian cuisine.
