The Extra Virgin Olive Señoríos de Relleu, is a blend from old and endemic olives trees from alicante, its an aromatic fruity and complex extra virgin olive oil in which is rich of aromas distinguished from a touch and floral citrus scent light up hay, going through the fresh scent of grass and interesting shade of fig tree. The balance between the fruity found, the bitter and the spicy makes an exquisite extra virgin olive oil.

An aromatic fruity and complex extra virgin olive oil

Señoríos de Relleu is the outcome of Eliseo Quintanilla Almagro’s curiosity, experience and origin. Born into a farming family in rural Cartagena, he decided early on in life to work in the world of pharmaceuticals, studying plants in search of purely natural means of making people feel better. More than 15 years ago this led him to research the bene­ficial health properties of oleuropein, found in olive leaves. This was the start of a close bond with olive trees, a love he has wholeheartedly instilled into his youngest son Hugo since childhood.

Ten kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea and at the foot of the Sierra de Aitana, in a valley surrounded by mountains over a thousand meters, is Relleu. In this special environment at an altitude of 429 m.a.s.l., with almost three thousand hours of sunshine a year, a mild temperature, an average of 15.8 ºC and an annual rainfall of 400 mm, the olive trees are in optimum conditions. The native varieties of olive trees coexist with the typical crop of the area, the almond trees and with extensive mountain fields of pines, kermes oaks, carob trees, rosemary, heather, mastic, esparto and thyme drawing all this a landscape of great beauty.

The clay loam and calcareous soil that characterizes this area was the perfect place to cultivate native varieties such as Manzanilla Villalonga, Blanqueta, Changlot Real, Alfafara, Genovesa and to accompany them with the highly appreciated Arbequina.

Since we started marketing our oil in 2011, we have obtained more than 100 recognitions and quality awards worldwide, both national and international, in England, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Japan, Israel, USA. Among them we highlight:

  • Best oil of the Valencian Community (Spain).
  • Best of Class. Los Angeles International Olive Oil Competition (USA).
  • 95 points in the Italian Guide Flos Olei Marco Oreggia (Best Oils of the World).
  • Great Prestige Gold at Terraolivo (Israel) as one of the 20 best oils in the world.
  • Best oil (for three consecutive years) in the “SemanaVitivinícola” Wines and Oils Guide (Spain).
  • Top 10: Olive Oil Award Biofach (Germany). Highest award in the most important fair of organic products in the world.
