Lemon Cake With Poppy Seeds

Ingredients

For the Cake:
  • 150 g Butter
  • 3 eggs
  • Zest of 1 Lemon
  • 100 g Grated Coconut
  • 225 g Flour with Yeast
  • 200 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 1 c. poppy seed soup
For the syrup:
To decorate:
  • Poppy Seeds (to taste)
  • Lemon slices (to taste)

Preparation Method

  1. Grease a tray with butter and line it with parchment paper. Then heat the oven to 180ºC and concentrate now on the cake batter.
  2. In a bowl, place 150 g of softened butter, mix in 180 g of sugar and mix everything with the mixer.
  3. Add 3 eggs and lemon zest and beat again for 3 minutes.
  4. Then add half of the flour and grated coconut, and the poppy seeds.
  5. Beat a little more and then add the milk and the rest of the flour and coconut, to beat again.
  6. Place the dough on the tray and bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, add sugar and lemon juice to a pan and bring to a boil so that they turn into syrup.
  8. Don’t forget to stir until the sugar dissolves.
  9. Finally, remove the cake from the oven and the syrup from the heat, and let them cool a little before adding them to the table, accompanied by poppy seeds and a slice of lemon.
  10. Give your lemon cake the light and a crunchy company of poppy seeds.
