Chocolate Salami

Chocolate salami is an ideal recipe for snacks with children. It’s a favourite with the younger ones, but it also appeals to adults.

Ingredients

  • 100 g butter
  • 250 g biscuits
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g sugar
  • 50 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • icing sugar for sprinkling (optional)

Preparation Method

  1. Place the biscuits in a food processor and grind roughly.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan, taking care not to let it get too hot, it should just dissolve.
  3. In a bowl, beat the eggs, which should be at room temperature, with a whisk and add the sugar. Mix to obtain a homogeneous mixture, then add the rum and incorporate.
  4. Finally, add the melted butter. When you have a soft, smooth paste, add the cocoa powder and mix well with a wooden spoon.
  5. Finally, add the biscuits and mix. Place the dough on a sheet of greaseproof paper and roll it into a salami shape, taking care not to make it too thin.
  6. Sprinkle the salami with icing sugar and then wrap it in aluminum foil.
  7. Put it in the freezer for at least 2 hours. If you don’t use all the jam, you can always keep the rest in the freezer to keep it firm.
