Veal Goulash

Goulash is the best known dish of traditional Hungarian cuisine. The secret of this stew lies in the amount of onion it contains and its slow cooking.

  1. Cut the meat into 2 to 3 cm cubes. Season the meat with salt and pepper and coat with flour. Lightly fry the meat in a pan with olive oil to seal it and set aside.
  2. Sauté the julienned onion. When it’s cooked, add the chopped tomatoes and peppers and put the meat back in.
  3. Add water until all the ingredients are covered and then add 2 tablespoons of hot paprika.
  4. When it starts to boil, turn the heat down to the minimum and leave to cook for 2 hours.
  5. After 2 hours, add the diced potatoes, cook for a further 30 minutes and serve. A great spoon dish that everyone will enjoy!
