Apple Crumble with Maple Syrup and Almond Thins

Apple crumble is a classic dessert that is very easy to prepare. The combination of caramelized fruit and the buttery crunch of the crumble is a hit.

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. In a bowl, mix the apples with the brown sugar, maple syrup, lemon juice, and cinnamon.
  2. Grease a 25 cm x 20 cm baking dish with butter and pour in the mixture. Place the biscuits in a plastic bag and crush them into coarse crumbs using a rolling pin.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the biscuit crumbs with the oats, butter, flour, and brown sugar until a crumbly texture forms.
  4. Spoon the crumble over the apple mixture, before pressing lightly. Bake in the oven for 50 minutes to 1 hour, until golden on top.
