Sardines with aromatic sauce

These sardines with aromatic sauce are a real treat! The secret is in the marinade, which gives the sardines even more flavor. Serve over toasted bread and cherry tomatoes.

  1. In a saucepan, combine the vinegar with 1 dl of oil, the shallots and red onion cut into half moons, the broken bay leaves, the rosemary in branches (reserve a stem), the salt and crushed pepper.
  2. Mix everything together, add the white wine and bring to the boil until it boils. Remove and let cool.
  3. Once cool, add the orange cut into slices (reserve one) and the sardines and leave to marinate in the fridge for about 15 minutes.«
  4. Cut the buns in half and toast them slightly.
  5. Then, drizzle them with the remaining oil, placing the tomato cut into quarters and the sardines with a little of the marinade on top.
  6. Garnish with the rosemary and the reserved orange slice.
